Wedding joy for US kidnap victim

Elizabeth Smart, the girl who was in Utah at the age of 14 Msp kidnapped and held hostage for nine months by an itinerant preacher, her friend Scot married in a Mormon temple in Hawaii.

Ms. Smart, 24, is a senior at Brigham Young University. Gilmour met her while doing Mormon missionary work in Paris.
The couple married in the temple in Laie, Hawaii Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in front of a small group of family members, said Thomas. The group then at a private reception and luau instead.
Ms. Smart and Mr. Gilmour has promised to marry last month and initially made plans this summer. "The bride and groom were smiling when you leave the LDS Temple," he said, noting the couple planned to go on an extended honeymoon in an undisclosed location.

Once an itinerant preacher street preacher Brian David Mitchell was convicted in 2010 of kidnapping and sexual assault in 2002. He is serving a life sentence.
Ms. Smart disappearance led to a massive search in Utah. She testified for five weeks Mitchell study, called his removal "of nine months of hell."
